Three types of Filtration Systems
Sand
Filters are the most common and inexpensive option available.
Water is pulled into the filter and passed through the sand to
filter out particles before flowing back into the pool. It
is easily cleaned by either backwashing the sand or replacing
the sand entirely.
Cartridge Filters clean as the pool water filters through the
filtering material. The filtering material captures
particles and releases the cleaned water back into the pool.
Diatomaceous earth (DE) filters are made of fossilized material
mined from the earth and poured into grids that act as a sieve,
filtering out even the most microscopic particles. These
are the most effective, high end filters available.
